Air travel


Generally, international flights from main airports are direct flights to Buenos Aires. The flight duration is usually 12 hours. From Buenos Aires to Ushuaia, the flight duration is of 4 hours, and these internal flights are usually connected with arrival to Buenos Aires. Travel costs obviously depend on the departure country; the price of the roundtrip Rome-Ushuaia with Argentina Airlines (www.aoreolinas.com.ar) ranges from 1050,00 € to 1150,00 € (depends by period).
 


Equipment


A complete top and pants gear of good waterproof or Gore-tex texture. Wool and Pile jumpers. Propylene and synthetic materials is suggested as underwear for its fast drying property. Towels, gloves, sailing boots, comfortable trekking boots for excursions, hat or balaclava, sunglasses, small backpack and a good sleeping bag (beware of hard luggage as they can’t be folded up for storage).
 


Paying, boarding and disembarking


Individual costs include: storeroom, gasoline, port tax, and use of tender.
Doesn’t include: air transfer, visa, and alcoholic drinks.

for the modalities of payement: 50% on booking, the remaining 50% cash to boarding. there will be a commission charge for any cancellation

The trip to cape horn lasts 7 days.if the cape is laped within the first days it will be possible to consider the reentry in ushuaia previous to the skeduled date. (wether permitting). the trip to the Darwin Glacia is of 8 days. each trip begins at 10 am and ends at 10 am the following day.

For trip th0100607 the guests will board the ship at 10 am on 01 of june 2007 and stay on board untill the 8th of june 2007 at 10 am.


Particular meteorological conditions


In relation with the characteristics of the navigation area, the guests will be asked by the skipper in-charge of all decisions, to contribute in helping to carry-out on-board duties, as an integral part of the crew. The itinerary could be changed in accordance with the crew and the weather forecast. It is implied that guests must be in good shape and preferably have a passion for sailing.

when onboarding the ship the guest are asked to hand in a medical certificate to confirm their good phisical conditions.

The skipper, however, will be your reference point, always available for hints and tips on the art of sailing.
